Safeguarding
At UTC Leeds, we are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all our students. We require all staff, volunteers, and visitors to share this commitment and uphold the highest standards of care. We believe that safeguarding is the responsibility of everyone within our community, and we work diligently to create a safe, secure, and supportive environment for every student.
Our Commitment to Safeguarding
Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do at UTC Leeds. Our staff are trained to be vigilant, fully aware of the signs and indicators of abuse, and proactive in promoting student welfare. We prioritise the following:
- Building Trusting Relationships: We work to establish strong, consistent, and professional relationships with all of our students, ensuring they feel supported and valued.
- Early Help and Intervention: By promoting early help processes, we aim to identify potential issues or concerns as early as possible. Our goal is to provide timely, preventative action to safeguard the well-being of every student.
- Family and Community Support: We work closely with families and parents/carers to provide guidance and support, while always acting in the best interests of the student.
- Safe Working Practices: We ensure that all members of our college community follow safe working practices, and we maintain a secure learning environment for both students and staff.
