University Engagement

We work with the University of Leeds, which is known for its strength in engineering. In fact, the Faculty of Engineering at the University is in the top 150 in the world for engineering and technology according to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2020.

We are supported by the University in a number of ways:

• Representatives from the University are on our Governing Body and our Academy Trust Board
• Students from the UTC visit the University during their studies for a range of activities
• Students from the University attend our open evenings
• We run projects with the University – for example, a maths project led by PhD student Orla Gibson, which was based on robotics. The students developed their science, technology, engineering and mathematics skills during weekly sessions over the course of a term and were invited to visit the University to test their robotic buggies.
